Delete Your Account

You have the right to delete your Squara account and request removal of your personal data at any time. This page explains how to submit that request and exactly what happens to your data when you do.
How to request account deletion
Option 1 - From within the app (recommended)
- Open the Squara app on your device.
- Tap the Profile tab in the bottom navigation bar.
- Tap Settings (gear icon, top right).
- Scroll down and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
Your account will be processed for deletion immediately. The anonymization of your profile data is completed within 30 days.
Option 2 - By email
If you no longer have access to the app, send an email to support@squara.app with the subject line “Account Deletion Request”. Include the email address associated with your Squara account so we can locate it. We will process your request within 30 days.
What happens to your data

Why shared records are kept
Squara is built around mutual accountability. When you record an expense or settlement with other people, those records belong to the whole group - not just you. Deleting them unilaterally would corrupt the balances of other users who relied on that history. For this reason, shared transaction records are kept but fully anonymized: your name, email, and avatar are replaced with “Deleted User” and no information that could identify you is retained alongside those records.
Subscriptions
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active Squara Premium subscription. To avoid being charged after deletion, cancel your subscription first through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store before deleting your account.
